# Update Element Alt Text

> Set or update the alt text of slide elements

Set or update the alt text of slide elements. The alt text acts as a unique identifier used by other nodes (e.g., update text, replace images, update tables).

## Inputs

| `presentation` | string | Yes | - | Google Slides presentation URL or ID. You must ask the user for it if not provided. |
| `element_id` | string | Yes | - | The unique Google Slides object ID of the element (table, image, shape, etc.) whose alt text you want to update. Example format: 'g1a82910c99\_0\_0' You can find element IDs by using other operations 'slides\_get\_slide', 'slides\_list\_elements' which list all elements on a slide along with their IDs and existing alt text. |
| `alt_text` | string | Yes | - | The alt text to set for the element. We use alt text as id to link elements and update them like updating text, tables, etc. |
