# Create Keywords

> Creates Pinterest keyword targeting for an account, campaign, ad group, or ad

Creates Pinterest keyword targeting for an account, campaign, ad group, or ad. Advertiser- and campaign-level keywords only accept excluding match types (EXACT\_NEGATIVE, PHRASE\_NEGATIVE); ad group and ad level accept any match type. Use pinterest\_ads\_search\_targeting to look up existing targeting before adding more.

## Inputs

| - | - | - | - | - |
| `account` | DynamicAccount | Yes | - | Select Pinterest Ads account to create keywords in. |
| `parent_type` | string or SelectableOption | Yes | - | What the keywords target. ADVERTISER applies them account-wide. CAMPAIGN, AD\_GROUP, or AD scope them to that entity. Advertisers and campaigns can only take excluding match types (EXACT\_NEGATIVE or PHRASE\_NEGATIVE); ad groups and ads accept any match type. |
| `campaign_id` | string or SelectItem | No | - | Pinterest campaign ID. Required when parent\_type is CAMPAIGN. |
| `ad_group_id` | string or SelectItem | No | - | Pinterest ad group ID. Required when parent\_type is AD\_GROUP. |
| `ad_id` | string | No | - | Pinterest ad ID. Required when parent\_type is AD. |
| `keywords` | array of object or string | Yes | - | Keywords to create as a JSON list of objects. Each object requires 'value' (keyword text, up to 120 characters) and 'match\_type' (BROAD, PHRASE, EXACT, EXACT\_NEGATIVE, or PHRASE\_NEGATIVE). Advertiser- and campaign-level keywords only accept EXACT\_NEGATIVE or PHRASE\_NEGATIVE. Up to 100 keywords per run. Pinterest's 'bid' field on keywords is deprecated and always ignored, so do not include it. Example: \[\{"value": "running shoes", "match\_type": "BROAD"}, \{"value": "-competitor brand", "match\_type": "EXACT\_NEGATIVE"}] |
