# Replace Ad Creative

> Attaches an existing creative (by creative_id) to an existing ad (by ad_id), replacing whatever creative was attached before

Attaches an existing creative (by creative\_id) to an existing ad (by ad\_id), replacing whatever creative was attached before. The ad keeps its same ad set, schedule, budget, and targeting. Use to update ad and edit its creative content without creating a new ad.The creative\_id typically comes from meta\_ads\_create\_ad\_creative (edit-ad workflow: meta\_ads\_get\_ad\_creative -> modify payload -> meta\_ads\_create\_ad\_creative -> meta\_ads\_replace\_ad\_creative) or from any create\_\*\_ad operation (e.g. meta\_ads\_create\_single\_image\_ad, meta\_ads\_create\_carousel\_ad) run with creative\_only=true.

## Inputs

| `account` | DynamicAccount | Yes | - | Select the Meta Ads account containing the existing ad you want to update. This is the final step of the edit-ad workflow. |
| `ad_id` | string | Yes | - | The existing ad ID whose creative should be replaced. Use this after meta\_ads\_get\_ad\_creative and meta\_ads\_create\_ad\_creative when you want to keep the same ad but swap in a new creative. |
| `creative_id` | string | Yes | - | The new creative ID to attach to the ad. In the edit-ad workflow this usually comes from meta\_ads\_create\_ad\_creative; it can also come from a create\_\*\_ad operation run with creative\_only=true, for example meta\_ads\_create\_single\_image\_ad. |

## Output

**Type**: `Dict`

Returns the ad ID, the attached creative ID, and whether the replacement succeeded.
