# Get Audience Count

> Size a LinkedIn audience from targeting criteria before building anything

Size a LinkedIn audience from targeting criteria before building anything. Use it to check a targeting spec clears LinkedIn's 300 member minimum, and to compare how much each facet narrows the audience. Look up real facet URNs with linkedin\_ads\_search\_targeting first.

| - | - |
| **App** | LinkedIn Ads |
| **Operation ID** | `linkedin_ads_get_audience_count` |
| **Type** | Action |
| **Connection** | `linkedin_ads` (required) |
| **Credits per run** | Free |
| **Agent / MCP tool** | Yes |

## Inputs

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `targeting_criteria` | object or string | Yes | - | LinkedIn targetingCriteria object describing the audience, as a dict or JSON string, for example \{'include': \{'and': \[\{'or': \{'urn:li:adTargetingFacet:locations': \['urn:li:geo:103644278']}}]}}. Use linkedin\_ads\_search\_targeting to look up real URNs and do not invent them. LinkedIn requires locations, and in practice also interfaceLocales, before it will answer. |

## Output

**Type**: `List[Dict]`

Returns the total and active audience size. A total of 0 means either no match or a privacy-suppressed count below 300.

**Fields**: `total`, `active`, `meets_campaign_minimum`, `note`
