# Search Files

> Search for files and folders by name in Dropbox, optionally within a folder

Search for files and folders by name in Dropbox, optionally within a folder. Returns also a temp public download URL (valid \~4 hours) for up to 25 matching files.

## Inputs

| `query` | string | Yes | - | Search text. Matches file and folder names, e.g. 'banner' or 'q4 report'. |
| `folder_path` | string | No | - | Restrict the search to a folder path from the Dropbox root, e.g. 'Creative Ads'. Leave empty to search the whole Dropbox. |
| `max_results` | integer | No | `25` | Maximum number of results to return. Defaults to 25. |

## Output

**Type**: `List[Dict]`

Returns the matching files and folders.

**Fields**: `file_id`, `file_name`, `file_path`, `is_folder`, `size`, `modified_at`, `download_url`
